" I started Home Run Films in 2016 after noticing in several job assignments that companies’ core values often talked about ‘Putting our customers first’ - there was never any mention of employees… Shouldn’t both be valued as much as the other?

I began to wonder how that made them feel, in terms of being valued by their business. Surely a motivated and engaged employee, first and foremost, made for a happy customer too?

 

Having originally trained as an actor at LAMDA and then combining that skillset with work as a Communications Manager and Learning & Development practitioner for many large corporates, I have seen first-hand how audiences respond to “Engagement”. With experience of filmmaking on both sides of the lens, I know the power that film has to captivate an audience and tell a story in a memorable way.

We have consistently found that the best engagement and moments of self-reflection come from using a story and/or characters as a talking point. With film, the advantage is that it’s active, people can relate to the character or situation, and the emotional investment made is deeper and therefore lasts longer. Empathy through story is one of our guiding principles.
